Frequently asked questions
How much does embroidery cost per garment?
For a standard chest logo (10,000–12,000 stitches), embroidery adds roughly $6–$10 per garment to the blank cost. So a $24 polo finishes at ~$30–$34. The setup fee for digitizing your logo is usually $30–$60 — a one-time charge, then reorders skip it.
What can embroidery be done on?
Polos, hoodies, jackets, softshells, button-down shirts, caps, beanies, towels, fleece, and aprons all embroider beautifully. We don't recommend embroidery on lightweight t-shirts because the stitches distort the thinner fabric.
How small can text be?
Minimum 5mm tall (about 0.2 inches) for capital letters. Below that, thread crowding makes the letters unreadable. For tag-line text or fine print, screen printing is the better path.
Can you match my brand colours exactly?
Very close. We use Madeira and Robison-Anton thread, which have hundreds of stock colours. Send us your Pantone or RGB values and we'll match to the closest available thread. For mission-critical colour matching, we can order custom-dyed thread (adds a week and a cost).
What file format do I need for embroidery?
A vector file (AI, EPS, PDF) or a high-resolution PNG is ideal. We'll convert it into a stitch file ourselves (the digitizing step) — that's part of our setup. If you only have a screenshot or a low-resolution JPEG, we can usually still work with it, but it might need a small cleanup fee.
Where can I find embroidery near me in Ottawa?
Right here — we're an Ottawa embroidery shop serving the whole city plus Orléans, Kanata, Barrhaven, Nepean, Gloucester, Stittsville, and Gatineau. Drop off your garments or send your logo online, and pick up locally or get it shipped.
Do you do custom embroidery for small orders?
Yes — there's no big minimum. We embroider single hats and one-off jackets right up to full staff and team orders, with bulk pricing kicking in on larger runs.
